The German national soccer team is to play their 1000th gameinternational match-Contest history in Bremen against Ukraine. This is reported by the ARD Sports Show.
According to the report, the presidency of theGerman Football Associationannounce this symbolic decision during the course of Friday. The game is scheduled to take place on June 12 and will be the start of an international treble shortly after the end of the Bundesliga and European Cup season.
Not just because of the opponentUkrainethe game would have a special meaning. There hasnt been an international match in Bremen since 2012, most recently the DFB had refrained from playing international matches on the Weser due to the Hanseatic citys demand to cover police costs with the German Football League.
